    Baripada, (26/06): As per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, a booth level officer (BLO) and a booth level agent (BLA) meeting was held today under the direct supervision of Additional District Magistrate Mayurbhajan and Election Registration Officer (Badsahi) Mr. Chukabandhu Naik at polling center No. 56 under 32-Badsahi (SC) Assembly Constituency. In the meeting, the progress of the special task force correction work going on at the booth level was discussed and emphasis was placed on strengthening the mutual coordination between the booth level officers (BLOs) and the booth level agents (BLAs). There was also a detailed discussion about the progress of the work related to the collection of voter data, verification and necessary amendments in the nomination guidelines by going door to door at the field level. In particular, there is a need for joint efforts of BLOs and BLMs to ensure that no eligible voter’s name is omitted from the electoral rolls, include new eligible voters, properly verify dead, transferred or second names and keep the rolls correct and updated, Mr. Naik opined. He also advised BLOs and BLAs to strictly follow the instructions of the Election Commission and carry out their work with impartiality, transparency and responsibility. Election Registration Officer Mr. Naik said that the main objective of SIR-2026 is to prepare a fair, comprehensive and updated electoral nomination through the active cooperation of all. BLOs of various political parties including concerned BLO Mutunjay Das, BLO Supervisor Satasi Kumar Behera were present in this meeting today.

On this occasion, District Collector Madhusudan Das said that behavior change is the best change. The role of youth is very important in building a drug free society. He advised the students to develop the attitude of ‘painter’s eyes, poet’s heart and scientist’s mind’.     Kandhamal: Tumudibandh, Ta. 25/06/2026: ‘Bikashar Bhandali Odisha Sara’ block level farmer news, discussion and training workshop program related to natural and progressive agriculture was organized under the leadership of Group Agriculture Officer Anil Kumar Behera in the premises of Tumubandh Agriculture Office. In this program Tumoband Panchayat Committee Chairperson Basanti Majhi, MP representative Purunchandra Padhi, Bajpa Block President Sarmeswar Majhi, senior leader Netra Manseth, Tumoband Group Development Officer Banbihari Harpal, Group Agriculture Officer Anil Kumar Behera, Assistant Garden Officer Dekshisha Mallik, Assistant Fisheries Officer K. Many public representatives and dignitaries were present including Sharmishta Pot, Veterinary Officer Anang Kumar Das, Soil Conservation Officer Pradeep Kumar Sahu and Block Farmer Morcha President Jalendra Pot. Additional District Administration Somnath Pradhan was awarded as the best ERO and Deputy District Collector Duryodhan Bhoi was awarded as the best sweep nodal officer.     The meeting of DDC and DLRC in Nuapada district has been held under the chairmanship of District Collector Madhusudan Das in the District Collector’s Conference Room. At the beginning of the meeting, LDM Harishkan Nial welcomed everyone and highlighted the purpose of the meeting. The meeting reviewed the objectives of the annual credit plan, disbursement of credit to horticulture, animal husbandry, fisheries and other sectors, financial inclusion, bank linkage of Self Help Groups etc. District Collector Mr. Das emphasized on coordination between various banks and departments to provide timely loan assistance to eligible beneficiaries and to meet the targets of government financial schemes. On this occasion, annual awards were presented to banks and institutions for outstanding achievements in the field of Self Help Group Finance, Agricultural Credit and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Credit. While Odisha Gramya Bank was adjudged the best bank at the district level in terms of self-help group lending, SBI ADB Nuapada was awarded the best branch. SBI was awarded the Special Achievement Award in the MSME category for sanctioning 238 loans under PM Swanidhi Yojana. Balangir Central Co-operative Bank (BCCB) Limited was adjudged the best bank at the district level for disbursing Rs.180 crore towards Kisan Credit Card (KCC) loans. SBI performed best at the district level in terms of MKUY loan sanctioning. Khariar Road NAC was felicitated for its continuous success in NULM and PM Swanidhi schemes in urban planning. Nuapada NAC under NULM scheme and Kharia NAC under PM Swanidhi scheme were awarded for best performance at district level. On this occasion Shashibhushan Munigrahi was presented with the ‘Bank Param Mitra’ award and the Regional Manager of SBI was presented with the ‘Banker of the Year’ award. District Council Chief Executive Officer Lambodar Dharua, RBI Bhubaneswar LDO Rajesh Kunda, SBI RBI Balangir Regional Manager Saikrishna Patnaik, NABARD DDM S. Majhi, RCET Director J. Sahu, various district level officials and bankers were present.

    Daringbadi, 25.6 (Fast News Odisha): A fatal accident has occurred in the village of Pangali, Daringbadi police station, Kandhamal district. A biker has died after a bike collided head-on with a van used in a postal office. While the identity of the deceased has not been found, the IIC, Keshari Jena, who is searching for the identity of the police, said. Police informed that the van that caused the accident was a postal delivery van. It is revealed that Van No. (OD12F-3416) was going to Daringbadi Block Brahmanigaon police station after taking a call from Phulbali, while a biker was going to Daringbadi from Brahmanigaon side in Bike No. (OR 07 AJ-6837). When there was only 5 km left to reach Daringbadi, near Pangali, the bike collided head-on with the van, killing the rider along with some other bikes.
