
Bhubaneswar: A major update has been received from the Meteorological Department regarding the threat of Cyclone Mantha. Cyclone ‘Mantha’ will make landfall in Andhra. There has been information about land crossing through Machalipatnam-Kingalpatnam. Kakinada is likely to make landfall around 28th evening and night. However, at the time of landfall, the wind will blow at a maximum speed of 110 kmph. In the morning of 27th, there will be more condensation and it will turn into southwest and adjacent west central storm. It will move in a northwesterly direction towards the Andhra Pradesh coast. ‘Mantha’ will take the form of a severe storm on the 28th. Wind speed of 60 to 70 kmph is likely in South Odisha. In coastal Puri, Khurda, Kandhamal districts, wind speed of 50 to 70 kmph is possible. Regional weather director Manorama Mohanty has informed about this.
