
Baripada 26/10 (Fast News Odisha) In view of the possible storm and rainfall in the district, a pre-preparation meeting has been held through virtual medium under the chairmanship of District Collector Hemkant Sai to deal with it and prepare for it. The district administration has made adequate pre-arrangements for the sensitive tehsils, blocks and villages such as Ladsahi, Betanti, Mantri Panchayat, Khunta, Rasgobindpur, Morada, Samakhunta Sarasakana, Kaptipada, Udala area while the district administration has informed about the implementation of all emergency measures in the areas that are likely to be flooded during rains. The administration has already taken notice of this and has directed the concerned officials to make arrangements to evacuate the public to suitable safe places. In view of the possible storm, the district governor may order closure of schools and colleges where necessary and all fire stations and rescue teams have been asked to be ready to assist in rescue and evacuation operations where necessary. All BDIs, Tehsildars, Revenue Inspectors and Executive Officers of Municipalities and NAC have been directed to prepare relocation plans for disaster prone villages and habitations. Adequate water supply, uninterruptible power supply and lighting, sanitation facilities and adequate availability of food items including dry food and baby food will be provided in storm and flood shelters. Evacuation of pregnant women, small children, elderly and disabled people to safe places is given central importance. Above all, the District Magistrate emphasized on zero death so that no one lives in the storm. In the meeting, emphasis was placed on maintaining coordination among all departments and involving PRI members, volunteers and group volunteers in rescue operations. Along with this, the District Magistrate has also ordered that no officer and employee should leave the office. District Security Officer Barun Guntupalli, Additional District Magistrate Netrananda Mallik, Dukhbandhu Naik, Baripada Upazilapal, Baripada Tehsildar, Municipal Police Executive Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Emergency Officer attended the meeting organized by the District Emergency Department. Other Upazilapals of the district, Additional District Magistrates, Rairangpur All Block Development Officers, Tehsildars, Executive Officers of Municipal and Notified Area Councils and various departmental officers attended through virtual mode.
