
Nabarangpur, (Ranjit Naik) Date: 27.09.2025 Rikh: September 27 is being celebrated as World Tourism Day all over the world! This year, its main theme is “Tourism and Sustainable Development” (Tourism and Sustainable Development)! On this occasion, a district level quiz competition has been organized at Nabarangpur District Kult Bhawan to create awareness on the importance of tourism sector and its role in sustainable development! The competition was divided into two categories, school level and college level! Students of many public and private schools and colleges of the district participated enthusiastically! Pujariguda Government High School Principal Ranjan Kumar Mohapatra and Dangarveza Government High School Principal Sushant Kumar Sahu took charge as school level judges! For the college level, the teacher of Odia, Laxmikant Soura was the judge! Nabarangpur District Information and Public Relations Officer Manoj Kumar Behera attended the program as the chief guest! He interacted with the participants and explained about the career and job opportunities in the tourism sector! He also gave a detailed speech about how the state government is giving more importance to this sector! At the school level, 1st Shyam Sundar Jacob, Techno Gurukula School, 2nd P. Dhanush, Techno Gurukula School, Third M.Sc. Surya Narayan Naidu, Techno Gurukula School and College Level 1st Babita Gand, Nabarangpur Nodal Degree College, 2nd Priyanka Mahapatra, Women’s Higher Secondary School, Nabarangpur and 3rd Amisha Bhatt, Women’s Degree College, Nabarangpur! Finally, District Tourism Officer Gashiram Harijan suggested visiting tourist destinations during vacations to connect oneself with the essence and nature of tourism! All the winners were awarded certificates and cash prizes by the chief guest! The program was inaugurated by Niranjan Naik, Junior Assistant of Tourism Office, Swatprakash Sahu, Junior Assistant of District Culture Office and A. Prasat Kumar was a major contributor!
