Baripada 24/09: National Service Planning Day has been celebrated at Maharaja Sriramchandra Bhanjdeo University. University Chancellor Professor Pramod Kumar Shetpathi and Undergraduate Council Chairman Professor Kamallochan Barik launched the huge procession of volunteers and program officers of the University including 20 colleges of Mayurbhanj District in the morning. In the afternoon, a special meeting was organized for the Service Planning Day under the auspices of the National Service Planning Bureau of the University. The program was inaugurated by the Chancellor of the University Prof. Pramod Kumar Shetpathi in his speech and expressed the opinion that selfless service and dedicated life glorifies the society and the individual. Prominent social activist Aditya Patnaik joined as the chief guest and said that self-reliant personality should be created for a self-reliant India. Dr. Tarun Kumar Ojha, Retired Chairman of Baripada College as the keynote speaker said that Yuva should be a part of Samaj Seva Yojana. Chancellor Ms. Sumita Singh, University National Service Planning Bureau Coordinator Dr. Basant Kumar Mahant, Seva Yojana District Program Officer Dr. Anam Charan Raul, program officers of Seva Yojana from various colleges, volunteers, university volunteers, lecturers, lecturers, non-teaching staff participated in this program. Finally, the guests awarded the students for their achievements in various programs organized by the National Service Planning Bureau. Dr. Bishnupriya Haasda, program officer for women’s category conducted the stage while Dr. Shishir Behera, program officer for men’s category gave vote of thanks. Kavita Mahanat, a student of Betanti College, won the first prize in the speech competition, Divya Ranjan Samal of Baripada College won the second prize and Soumyaranjana Das, a student of Maharaja Sriramchandra Bhanjdeo University, won the third prize. Debraj Samantasinghar, Priyanka Priyadharini Das and Ashish Kumar Mahanth, students of Maharaja Purnachandra Autonomous College, bagged the first, second and third positions respectively in the quiz competition. In the poster competition, Shwetapadma Pati won the first place, while Pushpalta Munda, a student of Border College, and Gitarani Giri, a student of ACB Degree College, won the third place. Similarly, in the photography competition, Rajat Kumar Patbandh, a student of Maharaja Purnachandra Autonomous College, won the first prize, Golapi Murmu of Samantha College won the second prize and Jyotsna Dinda, a student of Shulapada College, won the third prize. Adarsh ​​Kumar Raut, a student of Maharaja Purnachandra College, and Aarti Ho, program officer of Samantha College, who provided voluntary assistance to the people injured in the hailstorm in Bishoi, were honored as the best volunteers of the year.
