Malkangiri, 23/9/25: Due to the prompt action of District Magistrate Somesh Kumar Upadhyay, the surgery of a child suffering from ankle pain has been successful at Cuttack SCB Medical Center. During a visit to the Korukunda block area, the District Collector found that the child Anurag Madkami of Tamsa Gram Panchayat Tandapali village had a crooked left foot. Anurag, a seven-year-old boy from the Koya tribe, is a student of Tandapalli Primary Higher Primary School. After learning about Anurag’s bad feet, the District Magistrate immediately directed the health department to provide full treatment under the National Bal Safety Programme. Anurag and his family left for Cuttack on September 22 under the supervision of Ranjan Kumar Bhuyan, a pharmacist working in the health department. Today at Cuttack SCB Medical Center, Anurag’s ankle surgery was successful and he is expected to recover as soon as possible. Anurag’s father Muka Madkami thanked the District Collector for giving his child a new life. However, Anurag’s ankle surgery has been done completely free of charge under the RBSKY scheme.
