Odisha Breaking News, Odisha News, Weather Updates, Odisha News Live

Kandhamal, (Fast News Odisha): There was another incident on Monday in Kalinga Ghat. After heavy rain, the rock fell again. During the construction work, the stone fell. Due to heavy rains and rock falls, the construction work was halted. After the landslide, while the road work was going on, the mountain water came and washed them away. Meanwhile, there are reports of rock falls last night. As a result of heavy rains, the scattered materials have been washed away for recovery work. However, as the rain continues, accidents are happening. Due to the traffic jam, the Ranchi-Vijayawada corridor is likely to be delayed again. On the 16th afternoon, due to heavy rain, a landslide occurred in a small stream near Dukkot in Kalinga Ghat, Kandhamal district, and large rocks, trees, and soil fell from the hills and washed away 30 feet of the road. As a result, traffic from South Odisha to Kandhamal district including various cities of West Odisha was disrupted. The scene of such a landslide on National Highway No. 157 made the National Highway Authority sleepless. While the departmental officers and engineers have reached the spot and are arranging how this road can be made ready for traffic in a short time, now the stone has fallen once again. The landslide that occurred on the last 16th in Kyinga Ghati will be remembered forever. There has never been such a big incident here before. Scientists are of the opinion that such a situation has arisen due to climate change. After discussing with the officials of a construction company of a foreign state working in Kinga Ghati and ordering to start the work on wartime basis, the construction company has started the said road work on wartime basis. It was seen that the company used various equipment to change the direction of the water on the hill on the right side of the gorge and blasted some parts of the rock to build a shallow road. And while there is hope that the temporary road work will be completed in a few days, another roadblock has hampered the construction work.
