Baripada 21/11: A bilateral workshop organized by the Graduate Department of Wildlife and Biodiversity Conservation of Maharaja Sriramchandra Bhanjdeo University has been inaugurated. The workshop titled “Safe Steps: Challenges and Solutions for Ensuring Women’s Safety in Field Research” was inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pramod Kumar Shetpathi as the Chief Speaker. In his speech, Prof. Shetpathi said that the workshop will help in imparting necessary training to women researchers in fieldwork and will promote gender equality in the field of science. Dr. Annie Poonam, Chief Scientist, Central Rice Research Center joined as the Chief Guest and said in her speech that safety of women scientists is a very important issue and necessary protocols, training and technology should be taken to ensure safety of women researchers. Undergraduate Council Chairman Prof. Kamal Lochanbarik in his speech advised the various departments of the university to take appropriate steps to ensure the safety of women in field research. Professor Indrajit Naik, the nodal officer of the university PM Usha program said that such a program would help in the successful implementation of the PM Usha scheme in the university. Departmental coordinator and host Dr. Shudhani Rath elaborated on the purpose and approach of the workshop and Dr. Dekshisha Nayak thanked. Departmental Assistant Professor Dr. Ashok Kumar Mallik and Dr. Rabindra Kumar Mishra was a major contributor. In this workshop, the professor of the university Dr. Dr. Monali Goswami, West Bengal Vidyasagar University. Dr. Priyanka Haldar Mallick, CV Raman Global University, Bhubaneswar. Shwetashree Purohit, Ms. Jayashree Mishra of Mayurbhanj Law College, Dr. IIT Bhubaneswar. Madhusmita Das, Additional Superintendent of Police, Mayorj, Mrs. Savita Majhi, Dr. Institute of Mathematical Sciences, Chennai. Bharti Dharapuram, Miss Sadhvi Sindura of Wild Wildlife Fund in New Delhi and Dr. Field Researcher of Calcutta. Ayushmita Naik is scheduled to give major training. The faculty, faculty and students of the university participated in the opening ceremony. On this occasion, in the recently held Reformed Children’s Festival ‘Mayuri’ at Mayurbhanchia and Baripada Municipal Council Anukully, various canvases of Shimilipala painted by Kuni Kuni artists were displayed under the supervision of renowned artists. These canvases will always grace conference rooms in universities.
