Malkangiri, 25/11/25: The district coordination and supervision committee meeting was held in the district council conference room on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Lok Sabha MP Balbhadra Majhi. For the development of the district, there is a need for coordination between the elected representatives and various officials, MP Mr. Majhi expressed his opinion. Even MP Mr. Majhi emphasized on the successful implementation of various schemes. In the meeting, emphasis was placed on the Prime Minister’s Dhandhanya Prashikhi Yojana. In the presence of a scientific team from Bhubaneswar, a detailed discussion was held to improve the agricultural sector of the district. Balimela Dam has the capacity to produce more fish. Similarly, almond cultivation is being done more in the district. The MP said that setting up small oil mills can create young entrepreneurs. The Pradhan Mantri Dhandhanya Yojana aims at socio-economic growth of the district with the help of agricultural experts. It is worth noting that this scheme has been launched in four districts of Odisha. Among them is Malkangiri district. The MP said that there is a dream to set up soil testing centers in 111 gram panchayats of the district for the overall development of farmers. The MP inquired about the status of fish, meat and milk production in the district. Similarly, the District Collector directed the Agriculture Department to set up BMCs for milk in Chittagong and Korukunda blocks. The District Collector said that all assistance will be provided to set up a BMC in the bridge scheme at Chittagong on priority basis. In the meeting, Prime Minister reviewed the condition of the roads being constructed under the Rural Road Scheme and instructed to complete the construction of the incomplete roads as soon as possible. The District Magistrate directed to form a committee to ensure quality by maintaining the prescribed standards. The MP ordered to put up proper information boards related to the road for public awareness. Similarly, the health department has also been directed to create more public awareness about TB disease. The MP also discussed the progress of the railway expansion project in the district with the officials. Similarly, the Chittagong MLA emphasized to develop the tourist destination in Mindaga Yojana. National Rural Livelihood Mission, National Health Mission, Prime Minister’s Rural Roads Scheme, Department of Agriculture, Prime Minister’s Crop Insurance Scheme, National Agricultural Development Scheme, Comprehensive Education, Integrated Child Development Scheme, National Social Security Programme, National Food Security Scheme, Prime Minister’s Skill Development Scheme, Horticulture, Small Irrigation, Drip Irrigation, Mega Drip Irrigation, PMEGP, Textiles, Fisheries Department etc. were discussed in this meeting. District Magistrate Somesh Kumar Upadhyay informed about the status and progress of the developmental works being implemented. Additional District Collector Rajswa Vedbar Pradhan delivered the welcome address. Malkangari MLA Narsingh Madkami, Chittagong MLA Mangu Khil, District Council President Samari Tangulu, Bankhand Officer Sai Kiran D, Deputy District Magistrate Ashni AL and Additional Development Officer Ramachandra Khadia were present in the meeting. Among others, all the district level officers, videos, tehsildars and members of the district coordination and monitoring committee were present.
