Kandhamal, (Fast News Odisha): The family of a minor girl has filed a complaint for rape in Daringbadi police station area of Baliguda sub-district of Kandhamal district. After receiving the complaint, the Daringbadi police took the incident seriously and registered a case under the POCSO Act. The police said that the accused was on the run after the incident. It was revealed that the minor had come to her elder sister’s house last August 31. However, on Friday evening, there was a huge procession for the Ganesha statue not far from the sister’s house. The sister went there to see it. At this time, after the procession and bhasani, the girl left her dress jacket at someone’s house. It is alleged that a married young man came in a car and forcibly picked up the minor girl and raped her in the car outside Daringwadi town while she was taking her jacket. Seeing the rapist open the door of the car, the girl screamed and tried to run away. However, the accused grabbed the minor girl’s neck and took her to the car and threatened to kill someone. The complaint states that the minor is in critical condition. The police have not arrested anyone in this case. The accused is said to be returning. After the incident, it became a topic of discussion in the Daringwadi area, and there is a strong demand for stricter police patrolling. In addition, the local residents have demanded that the police give priority to the safety of women.
