Baripada: In Khandia village panchayat under Shyamakhunta block of Mayurbhanj district, intense dissatisfaction has been expressed among the residents of the area, centered around the reassignment of the television developer. Local residents complain that while the Athapantaria Kalyan Mandap has been lying in a dilapidated condition for years, it is being used as a developer’s warehouse instead of a public facility. Apart from this, there have been allegations of raising bills despite the fact that a new water pump has not been installed in the Kalyan Mandap area. People have expressed surprise and anger because the developer has been given the task of constructing a health center by neglecting all these policies. The villagers are unhappy to see the use of low-quality iron bars, less cement than required, and very bad bricks in the construction of the health center in Khandia Panchayat. In the complaint, it has been reported that the local developer’s name is Gobind Sahu. Although many complaints have been raised against him on various occasions due to use of fake material, non-installation of information boards, substandard work, suspicions of administrative indifference have been raised. Recently, in the Shyamakhunta block meeting, Sanjali Murmu, the activist, pointed out the shoddy hostel construction work and gave clear instructions to blacklist the developer. However, the developer has received repeated orders of administrative cooperation, silence of senior officials and political protection. Therefore, the residents of the area have requested the District Magistrate to conduct an immediate investigation and take appropriate action.
