Malkangiri, 2/9/25: A review meeting has been held in the district council conference room under the chairmanship of Lok Sabha MP Eng Balabhadra Majhi. In this meeting, District Magistrate Somesh Kumar Upadhyay welcomed everyone and instructed the officials to present the development work of various departments. On this occasion, MP Ing Majhi directed the officials to set the target for the next fiscal year 2029 and prepare the action plan. Officials have been directed to prioritize and take measures to reduce the number of poor workers and the elimination of poor in the district.
The District Fisheries Officer has been instructed to increase the production capacity of fish farming and become district self-supporting. Similarly, the lead bank manager has been asked to target how to cover more and more people in Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyot Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana. It is directed to make the eligible beneficiaries compulsorily insured. The economy of the district is based on agriculture. Similarly, the Mission Energy Department was asked to assist in how more and more progressive Self Help Groups of Women can become Lak Pati Didi. Similarly, construction of roads, bridges, railways, land acquisition and compensation were discussed in the meeting.
