Baripada-Ta-01/09/25 Baripada municipality organized a voluntary mega blood donation camp on Monday on the occasion of the three-day Nikhil Bharat Autonomy Day celebrations. The camp was organized on the premises of Pope Public Welfare Mandap with the aim of alleviating the problem of blood deficiency. Baripada Deputy District Collector Dr. Mercysindhu Parida and President of Mayurbhanj Central Cooperative Bank Subramaniam Mohanty inaugurated the blood donation camp organized in the parish of Mayor Krishnananda Mohanty. A total of 650 units of blood have been collected in the blood donation camp. Which is a record number of blood collected in last 4 years. Among them, a large number of women have voluntarily donated blood. To encourage the blood donation camp, Baripada Deputy District Collector Dr. Mercysindhu Parida, Baripada Tehsildar and Executive Officer Sapan Kumar Sahu, General Manager of Watco Gulshan Sahu, Deputy Mayor Sam Das, Councilor Dakhibijay Hasada, Pooja Tarei, Shibash donated blood. Along with this, a family of husband Amit Mohapatra and wife Rita Mohanty and mother Madhusmita Nayak and daughter Adyasha Nayak have donated blood. The people of 28 wards of Baripada municipality voluntarily participated and donated blood in the camp organized under the coordination of Mayor Mr. Mohanty. Da Saumaryanjan Nayak, Da Nilesh Das, Da Chuchashree Nayak of Baripada Blood Bank and Da Khageshwar Singh and other staff of Udla Blood Bank were present and collected the blood. Socialite Amar, a Red Cross Life Member, was present and assisted in blood collection. Devine Engineering College, Biju Patnaik Nursing College, Sarada Devi Nursing College, MPK Nursing College, Sai Adams College, Legend Auto matic, Popep staff, youth, young women, women, various institutions and organizations participated in the camp and donated blood. All ward councilors were present and encouraged the blood donors. Mega Blood Donation Camp is a success with everyone’s cooperation. It is worth noting that after the formation of the new council, 323 units were collected in 2022, 407 units in 2023, and 463 units in 2024 at the Autonomy Day blood donation camp. Maximum 650 units of blood have been collected this year.
