Baripada: 30.08.2025// District Water and Sanitation Mission Coordinating Committee meeting has been held on behalf of the Panchayatiraj and Drinking Water Department of Odisha Government under the chairmanship of District Collector Mr. Hemkant Say in the conference room of District Collector’s office. In the said meeting, smooth implementation of mega, single and multi-village water supply schemes were thoroughly discussed. The District Collector had a thorough discussion with all the departmental officers about the steps taken at the grassroots level to provide clean and pure drinking water to every family, public meeting places and educational institutions, Anganwadi centers. The District Collector advised the District Water Supply Sub-Department, Superintendent, in collaboration with the District Education Officer, to take appropriate measures to ensure that clean drinking water is available through pipes in every educational institution and to provide this facility in all school hostels. According to the government’s plan, the District Collector has ordered to pay attention to how water can be supplied in sufficient quantity to every house and every place. Along with this, PVTG has directed to complete the water supply system to all the living areas properly, has directed the various construction companies to employ more manpower and complete the work on time in the wiring process and has instructed to inform about the progress of the work through geo tag photos. In the meeting, District Council Chief Development Officer Mr. Dharma Nand Behera, Superintendent of Rairangpur Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Division Shrikant Raut, line department officers of all blocks were present and discussed how to speed up mega pipe water supply in the district and how to properly implement land demarcation at all water supply points. In the said meeting, the departments of Electricity, Forestry, Ports, Education, Housing, Revenue, National Highways, Water Supply, etc., expressed their opinion in this executive meeting for the immediate execution of the schemes being implemented. The meeting was conducted by Mr. Vyanendra Naik, Superintendent of Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Department, Baripada, while all departmental and sub-divisional officials attended.
