Baripada – Thu :- 29/08/2025 National Sports Day has been observed by Mayurbhanj Athletic Association in local Baripada Stadium premises. The first guest, the association’s staff paid tribute to Indian hockey star Dhyan Chand on his 200th birth anniversary with his photo portrait. The meeting was attended by Additional District Magistrate Elohim Chandra Naik as the Chief Guest, District Sports Officer Shudashish Naik as the guest of honor highlighted the sports life of Indian hockey star Major Dhyan Chand. Editor Baidyanath Rath, Ashok Patnaik, Media Coordinator Somnath Singh, Senior Sportsman Vijay Kumar Das (Mantu Da), Harshvardhan Jacob, Nandlal Mahapatra, Sports Teacher Divya Ranjan Das were the chief attendees and commemorated Major Dhyan Chand. Retired Senior Sports Coach Kumar Ranjan Panda conducted the program while Editor Mr. Das thanked everyone.
