Malkangiri, 26/8/25: Today District Governor Somesh Kumar Upadhyay felicitated teacher Basant Kumar Rana who was selected for the National Teacher Award by giving him a bouquet of flowers in his office. The district leader expressed his happiness at this national level success and said that it is a matter of pride and glory for our district Malkangiri. On this occasion, the District Collector had a brief discussion with Mr. Rana. Mr. Rana informed that he will travel from Visakhapatna to New Delhi on September 3. Shri Rana will receive the award at a special function organized at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on Guru Diwali on September 5. Shri Rana Kuni Kuni, who started his teaching career in tribal areas, adopted innovative methods of education for Kuni Kuni children. Working as the head teacher of Kandel Government High Primary School in Malkangiri District, Mr. Rana is always striving and dedicated for the all-round improvement of the students in the school. However, only two teachers in the entire state have been selected for this award. Shri Rana is one of them. Out of 90 teachers in 30 districts, 6 were selected for the national level. Shri Rana emphasized on the beautification of school infrastructure which makes the learning environment of children more attractive and fun. He also took care to see how the child was drawn to the lesson and read with joy. Today, he has been selected for the 2025 National Education Award for his innovative teaching methods and has brought glory to the entire state and Malkangiri district. On this occasion, District Education Officer Chit Ranjan Manigarahi, Education Department Engineer Saroj Samantharai and the staff of Education Department were present.
