Nuapada: Farmer leader of Nuapada district and BJP senior leader BJP state working member Shri Yadumani Manigarahi held a detailed discussion on the shortage of fertilizer in the district at the level of senior officials of the agriculture department and demanded an immediate solution. Joint Director of Agriculture Department Mr. Basant Kumar De and DDA Mr. Sharda Prasanna Kar appealed to the departmental officials to supply fertilizer as per the requirement of the farmers of Nuapada district at the required time, otherwise Kharif farming will be affected to a great extent, Mr. Manigrahi mentioned. Now, due to lack of fertilizers in the district, farmers are suffering from panic. There are allegations of unscrupulous traders taking advantage of the situation and exploiting the farmers. Joint Director Mr. De revealed that despite all our efforts for labor unrest at the Martix Fertilizer Factory in West Bang Durgapur, there was a delay of one week in the arrival of the fertiliser. Now all the steps have been taken, by next 23/24 August, half rack of urea in Nuapada means one and a half twelve hundred tons, which is about fifty thousand bags of urea. After that, another half rake of fertilizer will arrive the following week. Therefore, the state government expressed that it is sensitive to eliminate the shortage of fertilizers in the district.
