Kandhamal, (Fast News Odisha): A demand letter has been issued to the Chief Minister through the Upazilapal to form a new Panchayat in Nadapatang of Barkhama Panchayat and Manikuti of Sidriga Panchayat in Baliguda Block of Kandhamal District. A huge procession was taken out before the issuance of the claim. The procession left Kalyan Mandap and went to the Upazilapal office. Drums were played in the procession and the villagers were holding placards and banners in their hands. Many villages of Barakhma Panchayat and Sindrigaon Panchayat have to cross the Ankabanka Ghati road through forested hills and rivers. Beneficiaries come to the panchayat for allowances, PDS rice, like crossing the 5 km Ghati, Banpahad riverside road. There is no road and telephone network in the area. Grants to the Panchayat for improvement of roads, drinking water facilities, mobile network facilities and various works are not being developed. It has been said that if the panchayat is with the government, various schemes and development in the village will take place and people will be able to report the problems properly. For this, new panchayats have been demanded to be formed in Barkham’s Nadapatang and Sindhigaon’s Manikuti.
