
Jharsuguda, 08.12 (Fast News Odisha) AIDS awareness program has been held at Women’s College Jharsuguda and Vedanta’s Anukuliya Women’s College Jharsuguda. The program was presided over by Mrs. Renuka Pujari, Head of Department of Politics. Mr. Suresh Kumar, District Coordinator of Youth Red Cross was present as the chief guest on this occasion. Dr. Adviteti Barik and Amiya Kumar Sahu participated as distinguished guests on behalf of Vedanta. In his address, the guests emphasized the need for accurate information, awareness and safe use of important health issues like AIDS/HIV. He called upon the youth to play an active role in awareness campaigns and dispel illusions, superstitions and social stigma related to AIDS. On the occasion of the event, various competitions were organized by the college, in which the students who gave excellent performance were felicitated. The program was conducted by Dr. Asammitra, Youth Red Cross Coordinator, Women’s College. Finally, the program concluded successfully with a vote of thanks. Other coordinators of the Youth Red Cross, Dr. Fatima B. and Shri. Gokul Nand Sahu, along with honorary faculty members of the college, Renuka Patel, Reshma Ikka, Sushmita Sahani and Saroj Patel were present on the occasion.
