Malkangiri, 22/12/2025: District Magistrate Somesh Kumar Upadhyay has heard the cries of Mariwada villagers. After long 22 years, 39 people of Mariwada village got possession of land. Last December 15, District Collector and SP visited 18 villages of Rakhalguda, Mariwada, Niliguda and MV. During the visit, the villagers of Mariwada expressed their grief to the district magistrate. The District Collector found out that even though the land lease was obtained 22 years ago, the possession of the land was not obtained. The District Magistrate immediately directed the Malkangari Tahsildar to take steps to occupy the land of the said beneficiary of Mariwada village on preferential basis. As a result, according to the order of the District Collector, Deputy District Collector Ashni AL was present today and occupied the land to 39 beneficiaries. On this occasion, Deputy District Collector congratulated all the stakeholders and informed that the district administration is in a hurry to solve the remaining land problems on a priority basis. All the villagers were happy with their response and expressed their gratitude to the District Collector for getting possession of the land after a long time. Malkangiri Tahsildar Vishwaranjan Pravinas Malkangiri Tehsil Mariwada Village Ghardih has identified and occupied the land to the beneficiaries. Among others, the supervisor, revenue inspector and other tehsil officials were present in Mariwada village.
