Kalahandi Makund Naik: (Fast News Odisha) 25.12.2025 Kalahandi District Level Good Governance Day, the 101st Jayanti of former Prime Minister of India, Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee, was celebrated today at Sadbhavna Sabha in the office of District Collector. In this program presided over by Additional District Collector Tanmay Kumar Darwan, MP Kalahandi (Lok Sabha) Malvika Devi as the chief guest, Chief Development Officer District Council Melimaya Padira as the guest of honor, District Culture Officer Viveka Mahanandand, District Social Security Officer Dinesh Kumar Kaher, Jai Shankar Naik, Dr. Umesh Chandra Shetpathi as the speaker and paid tribute to the photo of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The chief guest, Member of Lok Sabha Mrs. Malvika Devi, highlighted the importance of celebrating Good Governance Day by remembering Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The guest of honor, the speaker referred to the exemplary biography of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee and highlighted the importance of celebrating his birth anniversary as Good Governance Day throughout India. District Sports Officer Ramesh Chandra Padhira, District Tourism Officer Subodh Chhatriya, District Child Protection Officer Rakendra Mohapatra among others participated in the event. During the programme, winners of the elocution competition held at school college level were awarded prizes and certificates of appreciation by the chief guest. At the high school level, Sivananda Barik of Saraswati Children’s Temple Braj Bihar Bhabanipatna got first place, Abhinav Das got second place, Abhijit Rana of Bandavati Bihar got third place, while in the college level speech competition, Manorama Kiranmai Devi of Development Degree College got first place, Prausal Patnaik of Ma Manikaswari University got second place and Temphula Rana got third place. On this occasion, after the program of the meeting, a poetry reading ceremony was held on Vajpayee’s ideal biography, in which a large number of poets and poets attended and recited poems. The program was conducted by District Information and Public Relations Officer Khaldhar Neal.
