Kolabira, 26.1 (Fast News Odisha): A businessman who was seriously injured in a gas accident died on Friday morning. Out of the couple who were seriously affected by fire from Thursday morning, her husband Surendra Tankar (67) died in Rourkela IGH from Friday morning and his wife Pushali is still in critical condition. A well-known prominent businessman of Surendra district who died prematurely. Along with the hotel business, he has a transport business. He is always known to the people of Uchal as a charitable and pious person. His death has been deeply mourned in the region. He has two sons Rocky and Lincoln and a daughter Monalisha (Rinky) sister Mini Sang has a son Kalhu, grandchildren and brothers and sisters. In the evening, a large number of people gathered for last darshan after the dead body of Samanat Surendra reached Kolabira village. He was cremated at Kolabira Telen Riverside Sushan. The eldest son, Gaurhari (Rocky) Priyajan, performed the last rites by donating Mukaghni to Shubshechu. The couple, owners of Shakuntala Hotel in Kolabira Street, went to the gas burner on Thursday morning and both of them were victims of the accident. Both husband and wife were admitted to Rourkela AGH in critical condition. Deceased Surendra Tankar and his wife Pushpajali Tankar (60) got up at 4:30 am as usual on Thursday morning and went into the kitchen to heat water for their daily routine. At first, after the woman came to Pushpajali Niar Agos and screamed, her husband Surendra rushed inside to save the woman without thinking ahead and he also faced the fierce fire. The fire in the gas was so intense that both of them could not get out immediately and were engulfed in flames and seriously injured. The family and neighbors heard the screams of their friends and rushed to rescue them from the burning room and immediately took them to the district hospital, but they were shifted to Rourkela due to their critical condition. But while Surendra died on Friday morning while undergoing treatment there, even now his wife Puspajangli is not out of harm’s way. As soon as the news of the death was broadcast, condolences were expressed from various quarters and Marmahat expressed his condolences to the family.
