Kandhamal:-31/12/25 Kandhamal District Nuagaon block of Katari Minor Irrigation Project service road improvement work is about to start, there is a happy atmosphere in the area. Villagers have thanked Baliguda MLA Sri Chakramani Kanhar as this road is going to be constructed after a long demand. About one crore rupees has been sanctioned for the improvement of this service road which is about 1.94 km long. The road will be completely blacktop as per modern standards. The width of the road will be 4.8 meters with a carriageway of 3.75 meters and shoulders on both sides. For a long time, the residents of the area have been demanding the Baliguda MLA Chakramani Kanhar for this road. During the rainy season, the road is very bad and traffic is obstructed. Many times students, sick, pregnant women were facing many problems to go to school. The hope of the villagers is that the construction of the new road will solve this problem permanently Local farmer leader Sushant Majhi said, “If the roads are good, agricultural products like paddy, maize, mandia, mustard, kotha and jana can reach the market easily.” By this, the farmers will get better prices and the financial situation will be strengthened. It is expected that employment will be generated in the rural areas as local people are likely to get jobs during the construction of this project. The villagers thanked the administration and minor irrigation department superintendent Irej Suryanarayan water collector for this improvement work. If rural transportation improves, education, health and economy will improve. Residents of the region are hopeful that this road will be a milestone in the development of the region.
