
Baripada, 1.1: In the new year, the 16th annual celebration of Mayurbhanj Citizen Forum and the 77th Mayurbhanj Merger Day have been held in Sadbhavna conference room at the District Collector’s office. Forum’s president Maharani Rashmi Rajyalakshmi Bhanjdeo presided over the program at the beginning of the forum’s founder Purunchandra Milchan Bugodei said in his welcome speech that the Chief Minister’s attention will be drawn to implement the second chapter of the Mayor’s agreement with the public. Maharaja Prabin Chandra Bhanjdeo, the founder of the forum, was also present and said that everyone’s efforts should be continued towards the development and prosperity of the district. Mayurbhanj presented many undisclosed information regarding the merger agreement. On behalf of the district administration, additional district governor Bhukabandhu Naik joined as a guest and said that the contribution of Mayurbhanj to the state and the country is exceptional. He said that the contribution of Maharajas in the fields of education, health, literature, art, culture and transportation is unique. At the beginning of the program, the data of the Mayurbhajan merger was presented by the senior IS officer Vijay Parwari. . Among others, former lecturer Sandeep Kumar Chand, senior journalist Harishchandra Nanda Goswami, Rajkishore Acharya, Ranjan Banerjee, Sai Prakash Mohanty and teacher Shasidhar Vashal were among the key speakers on the implementation of the Mayurbhanj merger agreement, implementation of the Arms Act by the central government to protect Shimilipal, completion of the Subarnarekha irrigation project, establishment of a large-scale steel plant between Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar districts, at Baripada. It was discussed that the government should insist on the launch of Bushabalang Adibandh Yojana, construction of Ras Gobindpur Airport. This year, senior journalist Dr. Vijay Kumar Agrawal and head of Mahatma Gandhi Eye Hospital, Aditya Patnaik, were felicitated with Mayurbhanj Citizen Award-2025, garland and flower bouquet on behalf of the forum.
