An awareness meeting has been held in Dumerpani village panchayat under Nuapada block under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Madhusudan Das. It was attended by Bankhand Officer Aziz Khan, District Principal Development Officer Lambodar Dharua, Deputy District Magistrate Surmi Soren, CDM and Dr. Dhaneshwar Sethi, District Council Member Uma Thakur, Panchayat Samiti Adhaksha Tareshwari Sahu, Tehsildar Pranab Ranjan Sahu, BDO Rohit Bhoi, Samiti member Churansingh Majhi, Local Sarpinch Karai Tekram Sahu were the chief guests. District Chief Development Officer Nuapada welcomed all the guests, officers and public and conducted the meeting. He said that as Prime Minister Narendra Modi addresses the people of the country through Man Ki Baat program through radio, he has come to Dumerpani with all the district level officials to speak his mind. The main objective of this program is to listen to people’s grievances, prevent the escape of migrant workers and lead people to the path of progress. He called upon the Panchayatiraj representatives to reconsider the proposal to merge it with the municipality for the betterment of Dumerpani retreat. He urged everyone not to go to other states as migrant workers as they get easy loans to start different labor jobs and businesses. The district administration is taking steps to involve all the workers in various schemes for livelihood including food, good education, health, agriculture, irrigation facilities. Those who went to other states as migrant workers last year will be provided all government benefits on preferential basis. l In the first ceremony, a tree for the girl child and a day for the unborn child were held. The parents of the child were given new saplings along with gifts l In a day program for pregnant children, the pregnant women of the village were met with fruits, vegetables, animal food and various gifts l In addition to this, Annu Prasanna Day, Poshan Mas, Godh Bharai Day, a tree for mother etc. were held.
