
Baripada 7/1 (Fast News Odisha) On behalf of the district health committee, a district level advisory committee meeting has been held on the proper implementation of the PCPNDT Act under the chairmanship of District Collector Hemkant Say. The district governor has directed the relevant officials of the health department to pay serious attention to how gender determination can be strictly prevented. The meeting reviewed the existing registered ultrasound clinics. Applications for new clinic registration and renewal were thoroughly discussed in the meeting. In order to prevent gender determination, the district governor has instructed to continue regular surveillance work in the clinics and to keep a strict watch on how abortion drugs are not sold in any medicine shop without a doctor’s prescription. In order to reduce the maternal death rate during childbirth, he advised pregnant women to take care of all kinds of health tests on a regular basis.
