
Baripada,Mayurbhanj,Odisha National Service Scheme (NSS) of Maharaja Shriram Chandra Bhanjdeo University (MSCB University), Baripada, Odisha Mayurbhanj is 25 years old and functioning since July 2000. Being located in a tribal densely populated suburb of Eastern India, it provides opportunities to the youth at graduate and post-graduate level in various social service activities and programs aimed at holistic development. During this 25-year journey, the NSS Bureau, along with program officers and volunteers, has received several President’s Awards, State-level recognitions, and NSS units regularly organize various camps and activities at international, national, state, district, university and local levels. Some of the notable initiatives of the NSS Bureau of MSCB University include District-wide Nature Camps, District-wide Adventure Camps, Massive Tree Plantation Campaign, Massive Blood Donation Camp, Eye Test Camp, Health Check-up Camp, Awareness Program on Prevention of Lightning Deaths, Campaign Against Right Poaching, Anemia Screening, Mosquito Survival, Yard Protection, Forest Fire Awareness and many more. In this Silver Jubilee year, for the first time, the NSS Bureau of MSCB University is going to organize a National Recruitment Camp-2026 (NIC-2026) at MSCB University from 22 February 2026 to 28 February 2026, where fifteen states (Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, 211 NSS volunteers and program officers from Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal will participate. Apart from this, 390 NSS volunteers and program officers from various NSS units of Mayurbhanj, NSS Bureau, former NSS program officers of MSCB University, NSS awardee program officers and volunteers will participate. The NSS National Integration Camp (NIC) aims to promote national unity, brotherhood and communal harmony among the youth by bringing together volunteers from all over India to experience the cultural, social and linguistic diversity of the country. These seven-day camps develop an understanding of leadership, national pride and national unity through community service. During this seven-day camp, participants will participate in various competitions (Yoga, Zumba and a cultural rally in Baripada town), attend various awareness-related technical sessions, and visit the famous, clean and sustainable tribal village of Bobeizoda, known as the cleanest village in India; They will also visit the SLS School at Village Pahadpur (Badampahad) and the Holiday Home at (Rairangpur) of the Hon’ble President of India. Each day cultural programs will be performed by the participating teams to demonstrate unity in diversity. Apart from this, an exhibition-cum-sale has been organized to popularize the traditional food of Mayurbhanj before the nation.
