The residents of Kalahandi District, Jayapatna Block, have expressed dissatisfaction with the irregular work of the Rural Development Department. Due to the absence of any departmental machinery on the main road connecting Jayapatna to Ladakarlakot, the developer is working arbitrarily, causing undue hardship to the public. During the work, no safe information board or barricade is provided by cutting the road to install the pole, and some big trees on the side of the road are also seen to be destroyed by JCB machine, which is rumored to be checked by Jayapatna forest department officer. There is no information board about the amount of money received for the road fund. Pollution gets into people’s eyes, ears and breathing problems. And public accidents and disease are more likely. It is questionable under whose umbrella such work is being done. Could there be a moonrise of developers and departmental engineers and administrators? It remains to be seen how quickly the government and the administration will act according to the right rules after the news, or they will ignore it by wringing their hands among themselves.
