A legal awareness camp has been held at the District Attorney’s Association meeting hall under the authority of Nuapada District Law Service Authority regarding various problems of migrant workers and detection of bonded laborers. District and Dauraj and District Legal Services Authority Chairman Niranjan Panda, District Magistrate Madhusudan Dash, Authority Secretary Navnita Dash, Senior Civil Judge Suryakant Acharya, Senior Civil Judge (Women’s Court) Sarojini Sahu, Nibandak Saubhagya Ranjan Pradhan, Sub-Divisional Penal Judge Nataki Dash, Junior Civil Judge Kahnhu Kishku, Deputy Security Officer Marshirani Poorti, International Justice Mission Officer Nathaniel Nag, District Information and Public Relations Officer Vidyapati Panda, Assistant Labor Officer Muralidhar Pakal, Public Advocate and Authority Member Trilokchand Soni, District Civil Bar Association President Vishwamani Munigrahi, Vice President Praveen Ranjan Patnaik, District Bar Association Secretary Parilal Dewangan, Principal Legal Services Advocate Prakash Kaptan, Deputy Legal Services Advocate Anoop Sharma, Assistant Legal Services Advocate Karthik Ram Bagh, and legal friends were prominent participants. On this occasion, District and Dauraj and District Legal Services Authority Chairman Niranjan Panda spoke about the legal system against various forms of harassment against migrant workers and bonded labourers. District Collector Mr. Das informed about the various measures taken by the district administration for the welfare of migrant workers. He called upon all the workers of the district to earn in their own areas and live with dignity instead of going to other states. District Legal Services Authority Secretary Navnita Das highlighted the various problems of migrant workers and the legal assistance provided to the workers by the District Legal Services Authority and appealed to the public to eradicate the practice of bonded labor from the society.
