Baripada 07/04: A practical training camp titled ‘Role of Artificial Intelligence in Interdisciplinary Research’ has been inaugurated at Department of Computer Applications, Maharaja Sriramchandra Bhanjdeo University. The five-day program sponsored by the Prime Minister’s Higher Education Mission (PM-USA) was inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pramod Kumar Shetpathi as the Chief Guest. Prof. Biswajit Rath, ex-officio chairman of the Undergraduate Council, presided. Prof. Shatpathi in his speech claimed that artificial intelligence is a reality in today’s era and it is a powerful tool for modern research. He hoped that the program would give new direction to subjective research on various subjects and help our students to face future challenges. As the keynote speaker Mr. Suparnakanti Das, Scientist, DIARDIO, Chandipur said that AI technology is not just a software, it is a wonderful combination of science and technology; After the data age, now is the AI age and this triumph of AI will continue in force in the days to come. PM-USHA Training Nodal Officer of the University Prof. Indrajit Naik attended as the guest of honor and in his speech said that such training program under PM-USHA scheme will enhance the quality of the university and help in skill development of the students. Chairman Prof. Biswajit Rath said that through this training, researchers will gain experience of practical training to solve real problems and this will help our university to be a leader in IAI research. Head of the department and host Professor M. Himbindu delivered the welcome speech and introduced the guests. Departmental Assistant Professor and Coordinator Dr. Prashant Kumar gave details about the program. Departmental assistant professor and one of the coordinators. Thanananda gave a vote of thanks. The guests unveiled the curriculum of the training camp. Mr. Manas Kumar Rath, Senior Director, Technology, Atlanta-based Brandscapes Company, and Dr. Tanmay Swamy, Associate Vice President, trained the participants in the event as guest speakers. More than 40 undergraduate students from the Department of Economics, Animal Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Business Administration, RSGIS and Biotechnology participated in this training program. The faculty, faculty and students of the department participated in the opening ceremony.
