
Malkangiri, 7/4/26: Malkangiri district head Mr. Arvind Rajashirke presided over the April district road safety committee meeting today at the district council conference room. The District Governor has issued important instructions to various departmental officers to prevent the increasing number of road accidents in the district and to ensure public safety. In the meeting, the District Collector emphasized on making the public aware about PM Rahat Yojana and Solatium Fund. He also suggested to ensure the availability of ambulances at various sensitive places in the district. Emphasizing on road improvement, the District Governor has directed to fill all the potholes on the National Highway-326 and to identify the dangerous black spots and bring the necessary reforms immediately. The officers of the department have been asked to tighten the lane inspection process to reduce the accidents and to create wide awareness to follow the road safety rules. In this meeting, Inspector General of Police Vinod Patil H, Deputy District Collector Duryodhan Bhoi, SDPO Dibyajyot Dallei, along with Health, Education, Infrastructure Development, Roads and Buildings, National Highways, Rural Development and all the private bus owners associations were present and reviewed the road safety system. Regional Transport Officer Tushar Hembram conducted the programme.
