
Under the chairmanship of Nuapada District Collector Madhusudan Dash, a review meeting was held today in the district collector’s conference room regarding the ongoing program under Odisha Irrigation Irrigation Corporation (OLIC). The meeting informed about the remarkable progress made in the field of irrigation in the district. In the last 9 months, 1,000 solar-powered borewells have been commissioned and irrigation facilities have been provided to 5,000 hectares of land. As a result, farmers are getting interested in different types of aquaculture and are getting economic benefits. According to the blocks, 467 solar borewells have been installed in Komna block, 208 in Sinapali, 158 in Khadyal and 167 in Boden. As a result, a total of 5,000 hectares of agricultural land has been brought under irrigation. The tender process for the remaining 305 projects is underway. On this occasion, the District Collector gave strict instructions to the officials concerned to complete all the irrigation related projects with good quality and within the stipulated time. OLIC Executive Engineer Prasanna Kumar Sethi, TPW Division Executive Engineer Sukhyat Dev Parida, Assistant Executive Engineer Manas Ranjan Buda and other departmental officers were present in the meeting.
