If you can’t reach the right people, clean drinking water is still a dream of people. People rely on tap water throughout the year. The pictures of the people drinking the water that has become cloudy and quenching their thirst have come to light. Such a rare incident has been seen in Petenivaru Sahi of Quirimandu Panchayat of Firingia block of Kandhamal district. There is a problem of drinking water. Clean drinking water has become a dream for the people of the village. People are collecting contaminated drinking water from drains throughout the year. Children as well as adults are affected by various water-related diseases. Sewerage is unfit for use due to dirty water coming out of it. As a result, people are forced to collect drinking water by digging ditches during the day, while at other times they are forced to drink the polluted water that flows through the ditches. As the well is far away from the village, there is fear when going to collect drinking water. In this regard, even after complaining to the administration repeatedly, people complained that there was no result. For example, the villagers demanded that drinking water should be provided quickly. The Kandhamal district administration has considered the problem of drinking water as serious and has demanded a proper arrangement to dig a new tubewell at that place.
