For this reason, they are spending billions of money from the royal treasury, but the development in the suburban areas has become a dream. There are many villages which have been neglected by the administration and the government. Such a scene is seen in Kandhamal District Daringwadi Block, Sonpur Village Panchayat, Gahakia Village (No. 1 Obard), more than 75 people from 15 families live in Kalimaha Sahi. Surrounded by forest hills, the villagers are struggling to survive in the forest Pepper, kandul, maize, paddy, mandia, kotha berry etc. are traditionally cultivated. However, even after many years of independence, this village development has not been included in the mainstream of development. The people of this village are torn between various basic problems. They always travel through potholed hilly roads. In case of emergency, ambulance cannot reach this village, so in case of any serious health problems, one has to walk on a cart to the paved road which is about 2 km away. Many times people are seen to suffer premature death due to lack of paved roads to the villages, they are not able to transport sand, cement, rods, etc. Even today, people are relying on flashlights because there is no electricity connection. In the evening, its door is closed for fear of wild animals. Due to lack of glue, the students are facing problems in reading. The villagers are deprived of the facilities like foreign news and entertainment. At the time of voting, many leaders of ministers come and bury their promises, but no one is seen after they are killed. The villagers said that even though they have complained to the administration many times about solving various basic problems, there is no success. The villagers are waiting for the approval of the district and block administration and the state government.
