An endemic problem in Totopara Village, Lebda Panchayat, Muribahal Block, Balangir District has gone unnoticed for a long time. Although all other villages in the panchayat have cremation ghats, this village is deprived of this basic facility. As a result, the villagers are forced to take the dead bodies away for cremation. The situation becomes very miserable and inhumane, especially during the rainy season and the Tiber drought. It has become very painful for people financially, physically and mentally. Despite this, the villagers are deeply dissatisfied as no clear steps have been taken by the administration. Therefore, the demand of the villagers is that the cremation ghat should be constructed in the village immediately, otherwise the villagers will be forced to protest in the coming days.
