(Fast News Odisha) Electricity transformers were installed to provide electricity service to more than 100 families in Gardingia Panchayat Panganayu and Lubrumahar of Tikabali block of Kandhamal district. But the transformer has been lying dormant for 5 years. Even though the villagers repeatedly informed the electricity department officials in writing, the department officials did not pay attention to solve it. Instead, more than 100 families have been connected with electricity service from another 10 kVA. As a result, due to the low voltage of the electricity service, the lights, fans, TVs and water heaters are not working properly, while many people’s fans, TVs and water heaters are fused. Due to the lack of lights at night, it is difficult for the students to study and the house is not lit properly. Now people are facing problem of no electricity due to summer heat. After hearing the incident, the volunteer organization SWAK team reached the village and discussed the incident after hearing the incident of the villagers complaining to the departmental officials as the transformer, which has been standing still for 5 years, is not working. According to the village people, we are providing electricity service to 100 families from only 10 kVA transformers, so lights, fans, TVs, water heaters are not working properly, and again today we have written a demand letter to the departmental officials for installation of new transformers instead of the existing transformers. Ekita has held a meeting and decided to send copies. It is mentioned in the demand letter that they have been given a strict warning to solve the electricity problem within the next 7 (seven) days and if the problem is not solved within 7 (seven) days, they will demolish the highway. It is also mentioned in the claim letter that if there is any problem then the departmental officer will be responsible. Ward members Meenakshi Pradhan, Ranjitha Pradhan, Vaikuntha Pradhan, Biranchi Pradhan, Vedla Pradhan, Pradesh Pradhan, Pradeep Pradhan, Banita Pradhan, Sunita Kaher Mamata Pradhan and others were present in the meeting. The residents of the area have demanded a new transformer instead of the 5-year old transformer.
