
Malkangari, May 25: A public grievance hearing camp was held today in the premises of Gunthawada Gram Panchayat Office under Chittagong Block. In this camp, a complaint hearing has been held under the chairmanship of District Collector Arvind Rajshirke. Chief Development Officer and Executive Officer Dasharthi Sarabu and Deputy District Collector Duryodhan Bhoi Major were present at the camp and heard the problems of the people directly. Many special camps were also organized by various departments to provide immediate government services to the people while the camp attracted huge crowds from surrounding areas. In particular, stalls were set up by the Health Department, Agriculture Department, and Women and Child Development Department to inform people about government schemes and provide prompt services. A total of 50 complaint letters were registered in the day-long camp. Out of them, 5 were personal problems while 45 were rural problems. In the camp, people mainly demanded Madhubabu Pension Yojana, new applications for old age and widow allowances, getting a proper house under the Pradhan Mantri Abhaya Yojana and issuing new ration cards. In addition, representatives from different villages presented serious problems related to construction of rural roads, problems in drinking water supply, electrification defects and land leases before the District Collector. Taking these problems of the people very seriously, the District Collector ordered the local officials to take immediate action. Departmental engineers and officials have been asked to visit the areas immediately and submit reports to ascertain the exact status of rural infrastructure, especially roads and drinking water. So that all the poor and deserving beneficiaries are not deprived of the government schemes, the District Magistrate advised everyone to maintain good coordination between various departments. Other senior officers of Chittagong block and local public representatives were present and supported in this program. Similarly, complaint hearings have been held in Gumuka of Kalimela, Kartanapalli of Mathilda, Sindhrimal of Malkangari, Mudulipada of Khairput, Dudametta of Korukonda and Materu Gram Panchayat of Dua Block.
