
Baripada, (23/06): In order to conduct the Baripada Rathayatra-2026 this year in accordance with peace, order and traditional customs, a preparatory meeting has been held under the supervision of the district administration in the conference room of the District Collector’s office under the supervision of the district administration. In the meeting, a detailed discussion was held regarding the construction of chariots, implementation of policies, security system, electric lighting, health services, drinking water supply, sanitation, fire fighting system, traffic control and cultural programs. Emphasis was placed on maintaining coordination between all the concerned departments, the department of the deity and the servicemen to carry out all the work in a timely manner. District Governor Mr. Sai congratulated all those present and wished for everyone’s cooperation to celebrate this year’s Rath Yatra with peace and order as per the previous year’s policy. Baripada Municipal Chairman Shri Krishnananda Mohanty, Security Superintendent Shri Varun Guntapalli, Additional District Magistrate Shri Ishwar Chandra Naik, Baripada Deputy District Magistrate Mrs. Kasturi Panda Major attended the meeting. In the meeting detailed details regarding the schedule and preparation of the trip were presented. During the rally, it was decided to provide electric lighting in Baddand and other parts of the city, adequate police presence, traffic control, CCTV surveillance and volunteers to be engaged in service work. The Health Department has given the responsibility to prepare necessary health services and ambulance arrangements to the Fire Department to deal with fires and accidents. The concerned departments have been instructed to ensure cleanliness and supply of drinking water in the city and Baddand area, to completely ban the preparation and sale of Amish food in Baddand, and to keep the liquor shops closed and conduct regular inspections. In the meeting, various departmental officers, servicemen, Rath Maharana, Rath Mahapatra, Paricha and dignitaries of the city participated actively in the discussions related to Rath Yatra and presented their well thought out opinions.
