Baripada: 17-11-2025 In order to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Rikh Sardar Ballabh Bhai Patel, the district administration organized a “Unity Walk” today. Honorable Minister, Minister of Housing and Urban Development and Public Enterprises Dr. Krishnachandra Mohapatra inaugurated as the chief guest. Honorable Rajya Sabha MP Ms. Mamata Mahanth, Honorable MLA Baripada Mr. Prakash Soren, Honorable MLA Sarasakana Mr. Bhadav Hasda, Honorable Jaundikaya Bangriposhi Ms. Sanjali Murmu, senior leader of BJP Mr. Candra Soren participated in the event. On this occasion, Hon’ble Minister Shri Mahapatra said that the creation of independent Indian states was possible only due to his strong efforts, reflecting the ideals of Mahamanishi Sardar Ballabhai Patel’s life. Today’s Unity March is being held with the aim of instilling devotion and patriotism in the hearts of the countrymen towards the country’s motherland, Sardar Patel’s formation of Akhand Bharat and the ideals of national unity. On the occasion of the said unity march, which started from Chou Malaya and traveled about 10 km in the city, various programs on patriotism and traditional Chou dance and tribal culture of Mayurbhanj were presented on the stage near MPC Higher Secondary School and Balasore Circle. The said march started from Chou Maliya and passed through Fire Office, Belgadia, Maa Ambika Temple, MPC Junior College, Srijgannath Temple, Balasore Circle, Traffic Street, Biju Patnaik Street, Kacheri Road and ended at Chou Maliya. On this occasion, the guests awarded the meritorious students of various competitions and felicitated the sportspersons who have shown excellence in various national and international level sports gatherings. Various public representatives, various leadership groups of BJP, workers, senior administration officials, various departmental officials, police administration officials, students of educational institutions, inmates of sports hostels, volunteers, various sportspersons, media representatives and citizens took part in the said unity march. In the play directed by Sushant Kumar Shetpathi, Sushant Shetpathi, Bapu Rath, Manisha Rath acted while Govinda in the light. Jena, Gururam Maniragrahi contributed in music, Sakil in stage design and Shweta Padma Panda in decoration. As the chief guest, Atal Ratna decorated social worker Purna Chandra Bhugudei and as the keynote speaker, Dr. Pushpa Pan, former chairperson of Laxmikant College, Bangiriposhi, presented the evening’s play and said that the organization of the National Drama Festival at Baripadghat will influence the local Karkar. Kandhamal, (Fast News Odisha): The monsoon season has started. And after two days Mahisha Mardini’s mother Durga will descend to Dharapa. Preparations are in full swing for Mother’s invitation. In this context, Sri Sri Sri Ma’ Patkhanda Durga Puja Samiti Anukully in Baliguda, Kandhamal District has started the famous Navratri Durga Puja in the Durga Mandap in the premises of the temple of Goddess Ma’ Patkhanda, the presiding deity of the region. With this, hundreds of female devotees came out to Khadag river in a huge courtyard near the temple of the local mother Patkhanda with chanting, bells and musical instruments and brought water in pots from the river and installed it on the mother’s pedestal. Mother’s Navaratri Upachar Pooja has been started from Monday in various Shakti Pithas in and around Baliguda for nine days. From Moolaschmi to Mahasthami, rituals such as Chandi Text, Mahasnan, Homa and Surya Puja will be performed according to the rituals followed by Maa’s special puja. Pandit Thacharambara Rath, Purna Chandra Shetpathi, Himanshu Shekhar Das, Ramakrishna Acharya, Ashok Kumar Das as senior priests are present and editing the regular puja program. With this, special puja rules have been started at the Shakti Pitha of Mother Patkhanda Durga Puja Samiti. For 9 days, the mother will appear to the devotees in a new look. On the other hand, the mandap is decorated with the statue of mother by the skilled sculptors of Calcutta and the high tower by the skilled craftsmen of Bhubaneswar has attracted the city. Devotees have been coming from the very first day to see Maa. On the other hand, extensive security has been put in place by the Puja Committee and the Police Administration for the smooth completion of the Puja. The president of the puja committee Sanyasi Pot and the editor Sushant Kumar Pot have revealed that all the preparations have been completed. Maliya, 13/11 : A workers’ conference was held on Thursday by the BJD party in the Madiya Block Sadar Mahkuma bordering Malkangiri District. In this meeting, the opposition to the various schemes of the government and the suggestions of the MLAs for the development of the rural areas from the panchayats and block parties have been disclosed. On the occasion of this workers conference, a special meeting was organized in the playground near the old block office in Maliya Block Sadar Mahkuma under the chairmanship of Block BJJ President Chinam Rabid Kumar. It is said that the BJJ government under the leadership of Naveen Patnaik has been leading the state towards development for the last 25 years, but in the last two years the BJP government has only changed colors and is saying development slogans. For this, it has been decided that every worker of the party should reach out to the people and inform them about the availability of the previous government. On this occasion, Malkangiri district president Manas Madkami highlighted the failure of the current government and said that the government MLAs are pressing to give 40 percent of the various block and panchayat level works of Malkangiri district as per the recommendations of the MLAs. In addition, the BJP government has reduced the power of people’s representatives at the panchayat level and is killing democracy at the grassroots level. Baripada-Th:- 12/11/2025 State-level Children’s Drama Festival organized at Gandhi Smriti Bhawan by Rich Balasore’s leading theater artist Anukul. In this festival, the students of Purnchandrapur Government Higher Primary School, Baripadar, staged the play “Kandatha Banani” and received high praise.
