The World Environment Day has been celebrated at Central School in Silda, Nuapada with the support of District Law Service Authority, Forest Department and District Administration. On this occasion, a cycle procession started from the District Collector’s office and continued to the Central School with slogans on environmental protection. The procession was launched by District Collector Madhusudan Das. District Law Authority Secretary Navnita Das, Nuapada MLA Jay Dholakia, Superintendent of Police Omritpal Singh, Bankhand Officer (Retd) Khadial Aziz Khan, Bankhand Officer (Wildlife), Nuapada Sameer Kumar Sahu, CRPF Commandant Deepak Mani Tripathi, District Chief Development Officer Lambodhar Dharua, ACF Ajay Khes, Chairman of Central School Balaram Mishra, district level officers of various departments, teachers, teachers, forest department, voluntary organizations, women SHG workers and legal service representatives of the authority, advocates and other advocates including Bindu Harijnank were present. Later, tree plantation and a public meeting were held in the said school. With the cooperation of all, there was a discussion about the activities done for environmental protection on the one year anniversary of the declaration of the district as a plastic free district. On this occasion, various nature lovers and people who worked for environment protection were awarded by the forest department. On this occasion, the Secretary of the Authority, Navnita Das highlighted the Environment Protection Act, Wildlife Protection Act and Solid Waste Management Regulations, 2026. After the awareness program, a plastic waste cleaning campaign was organized by the authority and around 87 kg of plastic waste was cleaned.
