Nuapada: The second National People’s Court has been held at District Legal Service Authority Nuapada under the chairmanship of Mr. Samar Vilas Behera, District and Circuit Judge and Chairman of the Authority. Additional District and Circuit Judge, Nuapada Sunil Kumar Das, Senior Civil Judge Durbasa Durga, Women’s Court Judge Sarojini Sahu, Senior Civil Judge, Khadial Isha Pati, Nibandak Saubhagya Ranjan Pradhan, SDJM Snataki Das, JMFC, Komna Samriddhi Sagarika Barik, JMFC, Sinapali Pragya Parmita Mohanty, JMFC, Khadial Samiksha Sa, JMFC, Boden, Rajesh Kumar Das and various Revenue Departments and Camp Courts participated in 5796 cases including family, check bounce, civil, motor accident compensation, camp cases and revenue cases and A compromise of Rs.1,83,24,020/- has been settled. Similarly, with the participation of various banks and electricity departments, 178 bank arrears and electricity tariff payment cases were resolved through compromise and Rs.38,22,829/- were collected. Nabanita Das, secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, conducted the Lok Adalat. District Legal Services Authority campaigned throughout the district to settle more and more cases in these National People’s Courts. In this series, Nuapada, Khadiayal and Khariar road notified area councils and electricity department’s road were widely publicized about organizing Lok Adalat and leaflets related to National Lok Adalat were distributed in various weekly bazaars and other places through Uraj Mitra. A promotional video prepared by the authority was aired on LED monitors at Nuapada Bus Stand and Khadial Ahar Kendra. That’s why District Legal Services Authority Secretary Navnita Das has thanked the district administration, executive officers of Nuapada, Khadial and Khariar road notified area councils and the electricity department.
