
Nuapada: On the occasion of two years anniversary of the state government, a district-level news meeting of caste and tribe has been held at the local National College assembly hall under the public relations program ‘Vikashar Nadhila, Odisha Sara’. The meeting held a detailed discussion on the development of the Scheduled Castes and Tribes communities in the district, their problems, prospects and future course of action. CDI Lambodar Dharua delivered the welcome address on the occasion. Later, District Welfare Officer Sanjay Bhoi gave an overview about the various schemes of the state government for the welfare of Scheduled Castes and Tribes, in education, scholarship, livelihood and social security. District Special Development Council Chairman Homsingh Majhi was the chief guest in the program presided over by District Collector Madhusudan Das. In his speech Mr. Majhi praised the multifaceted initiatives of the state government for the economic, educational and social empowerment of SC and ST communities. Special Development Council Vice President Belmati Majhi, Panchayat Samiti Chairperson Tareshwari Sahu, District Council Vice President Deepika Deep, Boden Block Vice President Musika Majhi, Darlimunda Gram Panchayat Sarpanch Askarani Mirdha, District Council Members Bharatal Raut and Bhanupratap Singh Majhi, District Dumb-Ganda Society and Tribal Welfare Committee President Harikesh Jal, and Murali Suna of Scheduled Caste Welfare Society attended as guest of honour. Community representatives, stakeholders and public representatives presented their views and suggestions on various developmental issues.
