
The proposed large scale irrigation project in Nuapada district aims to provide irrigation facilities to about 1100 hectares of additional agricultural land. A review meeting has been held under the chairmanship of District Collector Madhusudan Das in his office room regarding the progress of this project and various cluster works under Command Area Development (CAD). In the meeting, the progress of MCAD Cluster-5, the election of Water Users Society (WUS), the formation of the Firm’s Relationship Agency (FRA) and the progress of Cluster-28 were discussed in detail. Along with this, there was a discussion about the ‘Samriddhi ki Thakshay’ program to be organized in the coming days. The District Governor directed the officials concerned to speed up the work of Cluster-5 and ensure progress within the stipulated time frame. Likewise, the Center for Agricultural Sciences (KVK), asked Nuapada to speed up the process of signing the agreement on FRA. He also discussed this with the Dean of OUAT. He also directed to start the initial work of Cluster-28 as soon as possible.
