Baripada 08/04: Professor Mahendra Kumar Mohanty has joined the work as Chancellor of Maharaja Sri Ramchandra Bhanjdeo University. On this occasion, Professor Mohanty was warmly welcomed by the university. First of all, the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mohanty Punyashlok garlanded the statue of Maharaja Shriramchandra Bhanjdeo. University Undergraduate Council Acting Chairman Prof. Biswajit Rath, Chancellor Ms. Sumita Singh, Academic Controller Mr. Bharat Chandra Dehuri, Controller of Examinations Dr. Subrata Kumar Rana and all the teaching faculty and non-teaching staff welcomed Professor Mohanty with flowers. Professor Mohanty wished everyone to work together to improve the university grades in the coming days and to maintain the trend of improvement of the university. Aiming to make the university a center of excellence in education, innovation and community service, emphasis will be placed on expansion of modern courses in the next four years, especially in the areas of technology, entrepreneurship and environmental studies, he said. He stressed that he will work on strengthening research and innovation and cooperation with foreign universities, student-student exchange and youth research, modernization of classrooms, libraries and sports facilities, publication of examination results and certificates within 30 days through an integrated e-enabled ERP system, filling all posts for faculty and human resource development, and working on all the criteria of the National Education Policy 2020. It is worth noting that Professor Mahendra Kumar Mohanty has retired after working successfully as a professor in OUT. Born in 1965. He is an old student of Bhagwati Vidyapitha Shuklaleswar, a leading educational institution in Mahanga Block. He started his professional education from Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT), Bhubaneswar. In 1988, he obtained his B.Tech degree in Agricultural Machinery and Technology from OUT with first class honors. Completed M.Tech from IIT Kharagpur in 1990. After that in 2003 from IIT Delhi Ph.D. He obtained his degree. Prof. Mohanty has earned a reputation as a renowned scientist doing research in areas such as biodiesel, solar dryers and bioethanol.
