Baripada 09/04: The convocation organized by the University Literary and Cultural Council has concluded at Maharaja Sriramchandra Bhanjdeo University. On the occasion of Odisha government’s ‘Odiya Pakh’, books were sold at 29 stalls in the book fair, which was organized by the Mayor and outside writers and distributors, under the ‘Let’s buy a book’ programme. Vice-Chancellor Professor Mahendra Kumar Mohanty inaugurated the event held in front of the University Conference Hall as the Chief Guest. In his speech, Professor Mohanty highlighted how literature is intimately connected with life and said that through the digitization of books, more and more people can get an opportunity to read it. Under the patronage of Undergraduate Council Chairman Professor Kamal Lochan Barik, Chancellor Sumita Singh, Education Controller Bharatchandra Dehuri, Examination Controller Dr. Subrata Kumar Rana attended as the guest of honour. On behalf of the Literary and Cultural Council, the Chairman of the Undergraduate Council, Professor Barik, extended the award to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mohanty. And on behalf of the Council, the Chancellor honored the poet Dr. Jagatbandhu Acharya by presenting the letter and invitation. Vice President of the Council Prof. Pushpanjali Parida delivered the welcome speech and introduced the guests. The editor of the Council Dr. Bichitranath Sahu gave details about the program and co-editor Dr. Swarupanand thanked everyone. All the authors and distributors who participated in the book fair were given certificates and certificates. 47 poets and poets participated in a poetry reading festival held on this occasion. Many literati, intellectuals, all faculty members of the university and students of Mayurbhanj participated in this program.
