Baripada 05/06: On the occasion of World Environment Day, Maharaja Sriramchandra Bhanjdeo University organized a joint launch of “Brainstorming on Conceptual Startups” and ‘Climate Didi’ and ‘Climate Startups’. Sponsored by the Prime Minister’s Higher Education Mission (PM-USA), the program was inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mahendra Kumar Mohanty as the Chief Patron. Undergraduate Council Chairman Professor Kamal Lochan Barik presided. In his speech, Vice-Chancellor Professor Mohanty said that the harmony of environmental protection and economic development is the basic mantra of modern times; By starting innovative startups, young people can not only generate their own income, but also play an important role in making a difference in society and combating climate change. He promised that the university will always promote such enterprises. Dr. Sushant Kumar Das, Country Manager, Organic Spec Pvt Ltd and BioRTM Industries, Canada, was the Chief Guest in his speech Conceptual Startups are the Key to the Future; Through organic farming, eco-friendly technologies and enterprises based on reusable components, we will not only become financially self-sufficient, but also leave a healthy environment for future generations. He opined that university students should be entrepreneurs in this field. On this occasion, the guests launched ‘Climate Didi’ and ‘Climate Startup’ as a youth-centric initiative. PM-USHA University Nodal Officer Prof. Indrajit Naik in his speech said that such sensitization program under PM-USHA scheme will enhance the quality of the university and help in meeting the challenges of climate crisis in the coming days. Chairman of the Graduate Council, Professor Kamal Lochan Barik said in his speech that such a program will promote the students towards entrepreneurship. University’s Awareness and Sensitization Coordinator and host Professor Rajesh Kumar Singh delivered the welcome address. Executive Editor Dr. Bishnupriya Hasda gave the guest introduction and joint editor Dr. Shubhendu Kumar Shatpathi gave vote of thanks. Muhammad Hossain Ahmed, Structural Engineer and Managing Director of East Coast Traders Odisha, Mr. Okar Parida, President of East Coast Odisha, Mr. Chandi Prasad Suar, President of East Coast Odisha Foundation gave their speeches as the invited speakers. More than 2000 participants of the university, teachers, students, researchers and graduate students, non-teaching staff participated in this program.
