Malkangiri, 8/4/26: A big step has been taken by the district administration to strengthen the sports infrastructure of Malkangiri district and bring young talent to the public. Malkangari District Magistrate Angash Arvind Rajeshirke visited the sports complex and hostel at Sadar Mahkuma and reviewed the development of sports infrastructure and preparations for the upcoming CM Trophy. To study and review the sports infrastructure, the District Governor visited the various sections of the sports complex and emphasized on providing the best facilities to the sportspersons. He directed the departmental officials to study the condition of the track for better practice of the athletes and for its maintenance and necessary improvements. The District Sports Officer has advised the indoor stadiums in different blocks of the district to maintain them and keep them functional for the players. The CM Trophy sports program of the state government is aimed to be celebrated in Malkangari with great pomp. The competition will identify the hidden talents in the rural areas of the district and give them a bigger platform. On this occasion, the District Magistrate has inquired about the facilities of the inmates living in the sports hostel. He said that providing proper training and good environment to the players is the priority of the district administration. District Sports Officer and other administrative officers were present in this review meeting. The urgency of the administration to advance the youth of Malkangari in the field of sports has created enthusiasm among the local sports lovers.
