
Malkangiri, 21/4/26: The Chief Minister’s wedding marriage scheme has been held with great joy by the district administration at Malkangiri Kalyan Mandapam. In this mass wedding ceremony, a total of 17 couples have been married according to Vedic rituals. On this occasion, Malkangari District Governor Anakash Arvind Rajashirke, Malkangiri MLA Narsingh Madkami and Chittagongadh MLA Mangu Khil joined the newlyweds and wished and blessed them. On this occasion, the District Magistrate said that the Chief Minister’s marriage scheme is a great hope for the poor families who cannot get married due to lack of money. We are not only giving them social recognition, but also ensuring their future legal protection by issuing marriage registration certificates. Likewise, Malkangiri MLA Shri Madakami said, “Thanks to this innovative effort of the government, today the girls of our region can start a new life with dignity. Chittagong MLA Mr. Khil also said in his message that such a mass wedding ceremony is a strong step to prevent evil practices like marriage in the society. Additional District Administration Somnath Pradhan, Additional District Collector Rajsava Vedbar Pradhan, CDO and EO Dasharathi Sarabu and Deputy District Collector Duryodhan Bhoi were prominently present in the event. During the ceremony held under the direct supervision of District Social Welfare Officer Gauri Naik, the girl was given a check of 45 thousand rupees, a marriage registration certificate and a fruit tree. It is reported that Chief Minister’s Girl Marriage Yojana is a major social welfare scheme of Odisha government. Its main objective is to provide financial assistance to the poor families during the marriage of their daughters. Through this scheme, financial assistance is being given to the daughters of families below the poverty line. All the staff of District Social Welfare Office and District level officials fully cooperated in this important work.
