Kolabira, 28/05 (Fast News Odisha)- The training program for agricultural production companies on SIRI Jaibsar in Rajmal village of Kolabira block of Jharsuguda district was held on Tuesday under the direct supervision of Sewa Institute. Under the innovative project “Production, Popularization and Supply of Quality Bioinoculants in Paddy-based Crops and Agricultural Systems” (Jai Vruth) funded by the Odisha State Government, the present scientist said that this program is an integral part of the “Mera Village Mera Glory” program of ICAR and DAFE New Delhi. The theme of the training was balanced use of fertilizers. The program was organized in association with Social Education Service for social women awareness. Dr. Biswajit Mandal, a prominent scientist, highlighted the importance of biofertilizers’ economic and environmental potential. Senior Scientist Dr. Sudipta Paul explained the importance of NRRR-Indo N, which can replace 25% of the nitrogen requirement. Scientist Dr. Raghvendra Goud emphasized on switching from harmful chemical fertilizers to eco-friendly bio-fertilizers and recommended methods to be adopted by farmers in science-based natural agriculture with balanced use of fertilizers. Dr. Sameer Ranjan Das, Scientist of Agricultural Science Center, Jharsuguda, explained the agricultural practices of Kolabira block and the need to minimize chemical fertilizers and replace them with chemical fertilizers.
Dr. Anuj Kumar Rai, Scientist of KVK Jharsuguda, explained the importance of quality seed to improve production and potential of Azolla as Jaibsar. Dr. Sai Krishna Repali, research associate demonstrated the application of Trichoderma as a biostimulant and NRRI tech decomposer for rice straw digestion.
