
While the collection process of Rabi paddy in Nuapada district has started from last 25th, the district administration and the district supply department are keeping strict vigilance to prevent any illegal paddy from entering the district from the bordering state of Chhattisgarh. Various enforcement teams have been formed under the strict orders of District Magistrate Madhusudan Das, with the cooperation of RMC staff and police officers, continuous checks are being carried out on the border roads day and night. Along with this, check posts have been installed along the border roads and CCTV cameras have also been installed. As a result of this strict surveillance, a total of 645 bags of paddy have been seized in three lanes during the illegal entry of paddy from Chhattisgarh to the district in the last two days. The amount of seized grain is 206.52 quintals. It has been informed by the district administration that strict action will be taken against the persons involved in such illegal activities and the lane owners. The district administration has also requested the general public to inform the administration immediately if they get any information about such illegal grain transportation.
